Biography

Dr. Mohammad Biglarbegian is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. He was previously a faculty member with the School of Engineering at the University of Guelph from 2011 until 2023. Dr. Biglarbegian is a professional engineer in Ontario and a senior member of IEEE. His research focused on design, modeling, and developing novel algorithms for advanced mechatronics systems, particularly in developing novel control strategies for autonomous systems, including robots and vehicles. His recent work emphasizes the use of data-driven and machine learning-based algorithms for mechatronic systems. Dr. Biglarbegian supervises various graduate and undergraduate students in his research lab and has partnered with multiple agencies and industrial partners for his research. He has received several prestigious awards, including the University of Guelph Research Excellence Award in 2018. Additionally, he will teach courses covering Controls, Mechatronics, Robotics, and Autonomous Systems.
