Biography

Mohammad Shahidul Islam is a Ph.D. student and graduate research assistant in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver. He received his B.Tech. degree with honors in Software Engineering from Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL), and his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). He served as a visiting researcher on the Nanosatellite project (KITSUNE) at Kyushu Institute of Technology (KyuTech) in Japan. With experience as an ICT Research Fellow for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology in Bangladesh, Mohammad has co-authored several refereed journal articles and conference papers. His research interests focus on medical imaging and instrumentation, data acquisition and image reconstruction, optical coherence tomography, RF and microwave technology, and the Internet of Things. He is a recipient of the IEEE AP/MTT/EMC Paper Award for 2019-2020 and serves as a reviewer for notable journals including IEEE Access, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, and Nature Scientific Reports.
