Biography

Mohammad Mahdi Karimi holds a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tehran Polytechnic (2002), an M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tehran (2004), and a PhD degree in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University, Canada (2009). He has served as a MSFHR Research Associate at the University of British Columbia and as a Research Scientist at Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre. Currently, he is the Head of Bioinformatics at the MRC London Institute of Medical Science and a Senior Lecturer at King's College London. His main research interests include providing visual analytics and machine learning solutions for multi-omics data integration and analysis, with an emphasis on discovering diagnostic and therapeutic targets in hematological malignancies. He has contributed to various publications related to DNA methylation changes in clinical responses, therapeutic targets in blood cancer, and systems modeling for data exploration. His work focuses on harnessing computational techniques to enhance the understanding of complex biological systems.
