Biography

Mohammad Khamsya Bin Khidzer is a Lecturer at King's College London specializing in Medicine and Health Society. He earned a PhD in Sociology of Science Studies from the University of California San Diego in 2024, where he researched 'The Making of Racialized Diabetes in Postcolonial Singapore, 1960-2020' under the supervision of John Evans and Daniel Navon. His research focuses on Medical Sociology, Science, Knowledge Technology, Society, Southeast Asian Studies, and the History of Medicine and Health. He is currently working on a book project that examines the socio-historical emergence of 'Asian' Diabetes in Singapore through archival research and interviews with policymakers, scientists, physicians, and caregivers. Mohammad aims to transform research data into a living archive that foregrounds patients' expertise and knowledge in the medical discourse around diabetes. His work advocates for inclusive knowledge production in health and medicine. His publications include contributions to notable journals such as Biosocieties and Science, Technology, and Human Values.
