Mohammad Mirhosseini is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics at the California Institute of Technology. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tehran in 2010, followed by a Master of Science degree from the University of Rochester in 2013, and earned his Ph.D. in 2015. After serving as a Visiting Associate at Caltech in 2020, he assumed his current position. His research focuses on the experimental aspects of quantum engineering, particularly in developing interfaces that combine superconducting circuits with chip-based phononic and photonic devices at millikelvin temperatures. His long-term research goal is to realize interfaces that bridge quantum electrodynamics and quantum optics for applications in quantum computing, communication, and sensing.
