Mohammad Mohammad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on linguistics, particularly the Arabic language. He has published significant work including 'Word Order, Agreement, Pronominalization in Standard Palestinian Arabic' (2000) and co-edited 'Southern California Occasional Papers in Linguistics: Studies in Syntax' (1985) with Gary Gilligan and Ian Roberts. Currently, he is engaged in book projects titled 'Grammar of Palestinian Arabic'. Mohammad completed his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Southern California in 1989, as well as an M.A. in Linguistics in 1985 and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Damascus in 1971. He also serves on the editorial boards of Al-carabiyya and Natural Language Linguistic Theory.
