Biography

Mohammad Sharif Razai is a clinician, researcher, and educator with a strong focus on public health and primary care. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the University of Cambridge in 2014. Razai also completed a BSc in Anatomy and Developmental Biology at University College London. His research interests are primarily in primary care, maternal and child health, vaccination, ethnic health inequalities, and medical humanities. In 2022, he earned an MA in Applied Medical Humanities with distinction from Birkbeck, University of London. Razai has been recognized for his early career research on racial health inequalities, receiving the prestigious 2021 John Maddox Prize from Sense About Science and Nature. He has also been awarded a civic engagement research prize from St George's University for his work addressing ethnic health disparities. Since 2014, he has been practicing as a doctor within the NHS, and he teaches as a module leader for the Research in Primary Care module in the MPhil in Population Health Sciences. His academic interests extend to medical ethics and the integration of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
