Dr. Mohammad Zafar

Biography

Mohammad Abdullah Zafar, MBBS, is an Associate Research Scientist and Research Director at the Yale-Masone Aortic Institute, part of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Department of Surgery. As a leading expert in thoracic aortic disease, he has dedicated his research to advancing the biomedical understanding of this critical area, focusing on risk prediction, early detection, diagnosis, molecular genetics, and optimal therapies. Dr. Zafar's contributions to the field are recognized through his over 120 peer-reviewed publications and his active participation in national and international conferences. He has played a pivotal role in establishing the Aortic Institute's clinical database and tissue bank, which are recognized as the largest repositories of their kind in the world. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Health Science with a focus on Clinical Investigation at Yale School of Medicine. In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Zafar enjoys playing and watching soccer, strength training, and spending quality time with his friends and family.
