Biography

Dr. Mohammed Abuibaid is an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, Canada, with a distinguished expertise in wireless communications, focusing on mobile network standards and industrial automation. His Ph.D. research revolutionized Hyper-Reliable Low-Latency Communications (HRLLC) by integrating 3GPP, IEEE TSN, and IETF DetNet standards, addressing essential requirements for Industry 5.0. With over a decade of experience in optimizing wireless communication systems, he ensures high performance across key metrics such as reliability, latency, and capacity. As a Senior Member of IEEE, Dr. Abuibaid has significantly contributed to standards development, participating in various IEEE 802 Plenary Sessions and initiatives within ITU-T Study Group 15. Currently, he works as a Radio Virtual Distributed Unit (vDU) System Designer at Ericsson Canada, where he advances cloud-native solutions in 5G RAN environments. In academia, he drives 6G HRLLC research, collaborates on proposals, and mentors students. His innovative contributions have resulted in numerous publications in IEEE journals and conferences, attracting prestigious awards and fellowships. Furthermore, he plays a critical role in establishing the 6G Non-Terrestrial Networks Research Center, collaborating with global leaders like Keysight Technologies, while championing equity and inclusion in advancing resilient networks that link research and industry.
