Biography

Mohammed Parvez Ismail Bhuiyan, PhD, hails from Comilla, Bangladesh, where he pursued his Master of Science in Organic Chemistry at the University of Chittagong. He completed his PhD in Synthetic Organic Peptide Chemistry at the Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan. Dr. Bhuiyan's professional journey includes serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh, followed by a postdoctoral research appointment at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan, in 2010. In 2012, he relocated to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Utah State University, focusing on the development of diagnostic platforms. By July 2016, he joined the University of Chicago's Department of Radiology, where he served as Associate Director of the Cyclotron Facility until March 2025. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin, directing the Radiopharmaceutical Production Facility (RPF) and specializing in nanoparticle fabrication, colorimetric assay development, synthetic organic chemistry, MRI fluorescence imaging contrast agents, and small molecule labeling radionuclides for imaging therapy.
