Mohammed Daqaq received his MSc and PhD in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University in 2006 as an Assistant Professor and progressed through the ranks to become a tenured Associate Professor in 2012. His research focuses on the application of nonlinear phenomena to improve the performance of micro-power generation systems, micro-electromechanical systems, and vibration-assisted manufacturing processes. Dr. Daqaq's work has been funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, including the prestigious 2010 CAREER award. His research has earned recognition at the national level, receiving multiple awards such as the 2016 ASME C. D. Mote Jr. Early Career Award, the 2014 ASME Gary Anderson Early Achievement Award, and the 2014 Eastman Chemical Award for research excellence, as well as the 2012 Clemson University Board of Trustees Award for Faculty Excellence. He currently serves as the chair of the ASME Aerospace Division and is an Associate Editor for the ASME Journal of Vibration Acoustics.
