Biography

Mohan Srinivasarao is a professor in the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University in 1990 and has a Master's degree in Applied Chemistry from PSG College of Technology (affiliated with the University of Madras, India) in 1981, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Applied Science from Madurai University, India, in 1979. His research focuses on physical chemistry, particularly in the areas of polymers and liquid crystals. He specializes in the study of nematic liquid crystals, their optics, and the rheology of polymeric fluids and liquid crystal dispersions. His work also includes advanced microscopy techniques and the analysis of color science in biological materials such as butterfly wings and bird feathers. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Chemical Society, Materials Research Society, and the Optical Society of America.
