Dr Mohit Shivdasani is an Associate Professor in the School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He came to Australia from India to pursue a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at La Trobe University. After completing his Master’s, he received a scholarship for a PhD in Auditory Neuroscience. He is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has secured independent research funding from the National Health Medical Research Council. Currently, his work involves retinal implants and neuromodulation, with a focus on tactile nerve stimulation to alleviate chronic pain. He has published numerous papers in eminent international journals and has supervised several PhD and Master’s students, contributing significantly to academia through presentations and mentorship.
