Biography

Mohsen Moghaddam is the Gary C. Butler Family Associate Professor at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering and the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Tech. He obtained his Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 2016 and has held previous positions as an Assistant Professor at Northeastern University and Visiting Professor for the HumanTech project at Politecnico di Milano, as well as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University's Level Lab. His postdoctoral work was with the GE-Purdue Partnership in Research Innovation for Advanced Manufacturing. Moghaddam's research concentrates on developing human-centered computational models, algorithms, and tools that blend AI and spatial computing to enhance creativity and learning in industrial applications. His work integrates cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and human modeling with human-machine interaction technologies, particularly in augmented, virtual, and extended reality environments. He has received notable accolades including the Faculty Research Team Award from Northeastern University in 2024 and the Constantinos Mavroidis Translational Research Faculty Award in 2022.
