Biography

Moira Aikenhead is a lecturer at the Peter Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. Her current research focuses on the adequacy of federal and provincial responses to technology-facilitated gender violence from a feminist perspective. In her teaching role, Aikenhead provides instruction in Torts and Legal Research Writing. Prior to her current position, she taught Torts, Evidence, and Sentencing at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law. Moira is a founding member of the Women’s Legal Education Action Fund (LEAF) and serves on the Technology-Facilitated Violence Advisory Committee associate with the BC Access to Justice Centre of Excellence (ACE). Her extensive engagement in the field is reflected in her commitment to improving legal education and justice access through both teaching and research.
