Dr. Mojgan Jadidi

Biography

Mojgan Jadidi is an Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University, where she also serves as the Director of Common Engineering and BSc Science. Her research interests encompass Geospatial Visual Analytics in both 2D and 3D spaces, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and the integration of 3D GIS with Spatial Quantum Computing applications. She passionately drives cutting-edge technology development in engineering education, employing virtual and augmented reality along with gamification technologies in her work. Dr. Jadidi earned her PhD in Geomatics from Université Laval in 2014, focusing on the development of Fuzzy Spatial Datacube for Risk Assessment. Her academic journey also includes an MSc in Earthquake Seismology Engineering from Université Joseph Fourier in France and a BSc in Civil-Survey Engineering from the Iranian University of Science and Technology. Her research has received funding from multiple grants including NSERC and Mitacs, and she is currently the Associate Director at the ESRI Center of Excellence at York University. Furthermore, Dr. Jadidi actively participates in several professional organizations and has received numerous awards for her research, including the Paper Award from the American Society for Engineering Education in 2023.
