Biography

Mojtaba Abdi Jalebi is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Materials Discovery at University College London. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012, followed by a Master's degree in Materials Science Engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2014. He completed his PhD in Physics at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge in 2018, receiving the Semiconductor Physics Thesis Prize from the Institute of Physics. Prior to his current position, he served as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge. He founded a research group focused on exploring electronic properties of emerging semiconductors, such as halide perovskites and organic semiconductors, aiming to enhance optoelectronic and electrochemical devices for applications in low-cost electronics and renewable energy systems. His work is integral to advancing the development of cost-effective materials for energy devices, contributing to the transition toward a net-zero future by optimizing cost and efficiency in green energy production and storage.
