Biography

Molly Schmid has significant experience in interface technology and commercialization. She served as an Assistant Professor in Molecular Biology at Princeton University and has held senior executive roles in several biotechnology companies. Over the years, she has reviewed proposals for the National Institutes of Health Small Business Innovative Research program. Currently, she is an adjunct professor at the USC Marshall School of Business and works as a consultant for the Small Business Development Center based in Pasadena, collaborating with UC Irvine Beall Applied Innovation. Schmid is also a member of Tech Coast Angels and is actively involved in the Orange County-TCA biomedical pre-screening panel. Her contributions to the field have been recognized by her election as a Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. Schmid earned her PhD in Biology from the University of Utah and holds a BS degree from SUNY Albany.
