Biography

Molly (Mary) Caroline Verrier is an Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Toronto, where she has spent many years shaping the field of physical therapy. Graduating in 1970 as an occupational therapist, she practiced neurological physical therapy at Toronto Western Hospital. She furthered her education with graduate studies in Clinical Neurophysiology at McMaster University in 1978. In 1978, she joined the physical therapy teaching faculty at the University of Toronto and became the Lead Scientist of the Human Neuromotor Control Laboratory at the Playfair Neuroscience Unit. From 1988 to 1994, she was the Director of the Division of Physical Therapy in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Toronto. In 1994, she was appointed as Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy and the Graduate Department of Rehabilitation Science in the Faculty of Medicine, where she implemented innovative curricula and graduate programs in rehabilitation science, including the BSc PT Evidence-Based Curriculum and the Professional Master's Program in Physical Therapy.
