Dr. Mona Ringdal

Biography

Mona Ringdal is a Professor Emerita at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She has a significant background in critical care nursing, including a focus on trauma recovery and patient safety. Her research interests encompass the exploration of critical care patients' memories, their recovery experiences regarding health and illness, and the evaluation of patient participation in acute care. Notably, she has completed her dissertation on the memories and health-related quality of life of patients who have experienced trauma while in intensive care. Mona has conducted collaborative international research and published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Her contributions include various studies on patient safety incidents and the impact of restrictions in intensive care units during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also played a pivotal role in developing educational programs for postgraduate nursing in critical care and is involved in mentoring and teaching the next generation of nursing professionals.
