Professor Dr. Monica Faulkner

Biography

Monica Faulkner is a research associate professor at the Steve Hicks School of Social Work, where she also serves as the director of the Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing. Her research focuses on critical issues related to foster care, child welfare, child care, and teen pregnancy prevention. Faulkner has significant expertise in child family policy and has worked extensively with Latino families. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston. Throughout her career, she has been involved in various initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of children and families, particularly in vulnerable populations. Faulkner's commitment to enhancing the lives of children and families is reflected in her research and service activities, which aim to inform policy and practice in the field of social work.
