Biography

Monica Gattinger is the Director of the Institute for Science, Society, and Policy and a Full Professor in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa. As the Chair of Positive Energy, her research engagement aims to strengthen governance and public policy within the context of fast-paced innovation and technological change. She focuses on the interplay of public trust in government, industry, and scientific expertise, exploring significant issues within energy and cultural policy sectors. Gattinger is a Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute and serves on the International Advisory Board of the DC-based think tank, the Center for Policy on Emerging Technologies. Additionally, she is a member of the Advisory Councils of Pollution Probe's Energy Exchange and Energy Ambassadors initiatives, and sits on the Editorial Boards of the University of Ottawa Press and the journal Canadian Public Administration. She holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Carleton University, enhancing her academic and research credentials.
