Biography

Monika Cule holds a PhD from the University of Saskatchewan in Agricultural Economics and has been a faculty member at the University of Regina since 2004, with a joint appointment in the Departments of Economics and Political Science. Since 2006, she has served as a full professor in the Department of Economics. Cule's research interests encompass a wide range of topics including Political Economy Development, Health Economics, Corruption, Tax Evasion, Corporate Governance, and Socio-economic Determinants of Health. Her scholarly work has been published in notable journals such as Economics Letters, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, and Applied Economics Letters. In addition to her research, Cule is passionate about teaching and mentoring students, and typically instructs courses in Introductory and Intermediate Microeconomics, as well as Economics of Corruption. She is also actively involved in university governance, serving on various administrative committees, including the Dean’s Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Council Committee on Budget. Since July 2016, she has taken on the role of Head of the Department of Economics, demonstrating unwavering dedication to her field and students.
