Biography

Dr. Monika Lee’s main research interest is European Romanticism, particularly the writings of Percy Bysshe Shelley. She has published a monograph, 15 articles, and chapters. Additionally, she has released numerous essays on Canadian literature, and has written poetry books such as 'Gravity Loves Body' (2008) and 'Water Breathes' (2019), along with poetry chapbooks, short fiction, a stage play, and a libretto. Her poems have been featured in various literary journals and anthologies including Fiddlehead, Canadian Literature, Antigonish Review, Vallum: Contemporary Poetry, Dalhousie Review, Nashwaak Review, Windsor Review, and Event. She has won Brescia’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and has served as Chair of Brescia’s School of Humanities.
