Monika Lendl obtained her PhD from the University of Geneva in 2014, focusing on exoplanet detection via the transit method. She has held postdoctoral appointments at the University of Liège in Belgium and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Between 2018 and 2020, she led the GRAPPA project, which was funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency, studying stellar planetary signals through high-precision photometry. She returned to the University of Geneva in 2019 and was nominated as an associate professor in 2024. Currently, she holds the Swiss National Science Foundation Eccellenza Professorial Fellowship, which focuses on studying the climates of highly irradiated planets through the TITANIA project. Lendl specializes in the discovery and characterization of exoplanets using high-precision photometry and low-moderate resolution spectroscopy. She serves as a mission scientist for the CHEOPS space mission, using it to investigate the atmospheres of highly irradiated planets. Lendl is actively pursuing exoplanet discovery projects using ground and space-based transit surveys, such as NGTS and TESS, and is looking forward to leading a consortium working group for PLATO, focusing on the characterization of exoplanet atmospheres.
