Dr. Monique Auger

Biography

Monique Auger is an Assistant Professor in Public Health at the University of Victoria. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern British Columbia, a Master of Science from Simon Fraser University, and a Doctorate from the University of Victoria. Her academic work focuses on the social determinants of health, especially in relation to Indigenous Peoples. Auger's research interests include Indigenous child welfare, mental wellness, life promotion, and the application of qualitative methods in program evaluation. She is dedicated to community-based research and employs strengths-based approaches in her work to improve the health outcomes of Indigenous communities. Through her teaching and research, she aims to engage with and enhance the knowledge and practices surrounding Indigenous health issues.
