Monique Laurent received her PhD in Mathematics from the University of Paris Diderot in 1986. She began her career at CNET in Paris before becoming a researcher at CNRS in 1988, affiliated with ENS Paris. She was a Humboldt Fellow at the Bonn Institute of Discrete Mathematics from 1990 to 1992. In 1997, she joined Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam as a senior researcher, and in 2009, she became a part-time full professor at Tilburg University. Throughout her career, she has served on the editorial boards of several journals, including SIAM Journal on Optimization and SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics. In 2017, she was elected as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and became a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in 2018. Additionally, she was inducted into the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW) in 2019. Currently, she is a co-recipient of the ENW-Groot grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
