Dr. Monisha Gupta

Biography

Monisha Gupta is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer with over 30 years of international experience in dermatology. She completed her medical education in India and relocated to Australia in 2006, where she underwent a 2-year upskilling program at Liverpool and Concord Hospitals in Sydney. Dr. Gupta became a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2008. In 2012, she established Australia’s Pigmentary Disorders Clinic at the Skin Hospital in response to the growing demand among Sydney’s diverse population. Her main clinical interests focus on chronic skin diseases, particularly psoriasis, eczema, and acne, as well as expertise in infectious skin diseases. Additionally, she is the head of the dermatology department at Liverpool Hospital, which serves as a major training site for dermatology trainees in New South Wales. Monisha holds a conjoint appointment at Western Sydney University and the University of New South Wales, where she supervises teaching and clinical research. A passionate educator, she frequently speaks at local, national, and international forums. Dr. Gupta is committed to addressing health disparities among disadvantaged groups and actively participates in teaching, training, and advocacy within her field.
