Biography

Moody Kaldas is a Research Assistant at the Center for Dental Medicine at the University of Zurich (UZH), specializing in orofacial pain and temporomandibular disorders. His research focuses on clinical applications of instrumental acquisition and biosignal analysis to quantitatively describe the biomechanical features of the masticatory system. During his doctoral work, Kaldas analyzed spectral components of masticatory muscle activation during sleep in diagnostic groups of patients suffering from temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. Additionally, he has investigated the long-term effects of Incobotulinumtoxin (Xeomin®) injections into masseter muscles for bruxers, assessing impacts on masticatory muscle activity, chewing efficiency, and bite force. Kaldas is also involved in supporting a research team on basic clinical science projects related to temporomandibular disorders.
