Dr. Mor Naaman

Biography

Mor Naaman is a professor of Information Science at Cornell Tech, where he leads the Social Technologies research group. He also serves as the associate dean for faculty affairs. Previously, he was an assistant professor at Rutgers School of Communication and Information, where he led a research team at Yahoo! Research in Berkeley. Naaman completed his PhD at Stanford University. His research focuses on technology, media, and democracy, particularly the trustworthiness of information ecosystems. He employs a wide range of tools from machine learning to computational social science, and qualitative methods to understand and address challenges related to AI-mediated communication. His sponsors have included Yahoo, Google, Facebook, and the National Science Foundation. Naaman is open to taking new students each year who are committed to working on issues related to technology, media, and democracy. He actively engages with his work in the field through various conferences and awards, such as the Top Paper award from the International Communication Association.
