Biography

Morag Goodwin is a Full Professor at Tilburg Law School, where she holds the Chair in Global Law and Development. She obtained her Ph.D. from the European University Institute in Florence in 2006, with a focus on the Romani Claim to Non-territorial Nationhood. Before this, she received an LL.M. with distinction in International Law from the University of Nottingham in 2000, and an M.A. (Hons.) in History from the University of Edinburgh in 1999. Goodwin has previously worked as a researcher at the European Roma Rights Center in Budapest and served as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Maastricht University. She has also held visiting professorships at institutions such as FGV Direito in Sao Paulo and Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Additionally, she is the founder and series editor of the CUP Global Law book series and has directed the European Joint Doctorate in Law Development (EDOLAD). In 2018, she was elected as a corresponding member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Overseas Sciences. Her research is dedicated to exploring the intersections of law, development, and globalization, with particular interest in the themes of exclusion, inclusion, and participation.
