Biography

Morag's research focuses on poverty and socioeconomic inequalities, particularly those affecting children, young people, and families. She employs longitudinal qualitative and quantitative methods, utilizing birth cohort survey data and administrative data to conduct her research. Morag is the Co-Director of the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research, funded by UKRI, and leads the Children's Lives Outcomes programme. She served as the Deputy Chair of the Scottish Government's statutory Poverty and Inequality Commission from 2019 to 2023 and is a member of the Promise Oversight Board from 2021 to 2024. Morag is also the Research Knowledge Exchange Director in the Division of Urban Studies and Social Policy.
