Dr. Moritz Gubler

Biography

Moritz Gubler is a scientific staff member at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, specializing in Climatology and Climate Impact Research. He focuses on urban climatology and has contributed to understanding climate change, sustainability, and biogeography. Gubler's work includes exploring atmosphere-biosphere interactions and (micro-)meteorology, with significant publications addressing issues like social identity risk perceptions in climate participation, urban heatwaves, and microclimatic gradients. His academic journey began with a BSc in Geography from the University of Zurich, followed by an MSc in Climate Sciences from the University of Bern. He obtained his PhD in Geography from the same institution in 2021, highlighting his extensive expertise in research and education related to climate change. Gubler is actively engaged in projects that evaluate the efficacy of climate measurement networks and the educational dimensions of climate concerns in adolescents.
