Biography

Morteza Esmaeili is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria. He earned his MSc from Kharazmi University in Tehran and his PhD from Carleton University. His research interests primarily focus on Information Theory and Algebraic Coding Theory, with particular attention to the graphical representation of codes and the construction of LDPC codes. Esmaeili is also engaged in iterative decoding algorithms and linear programming decoding. His work extends to network coding theory, DNA codes, DNA data storage, and DNA computing. Additionally, he explores distributed storage systems, subspace codes, repairable codes, and index coding theory. He has a keen interest in public-key cryptography, network security, and lightweight cryptography, as well as graph theory, finite geometry, design theory, and combinatorial and linear optimization.
