Biography

Mosè Cometta is an urban scholar focused on territorial governance and the socio-political conflicts related to spatial justice and urban rights. His research addresses the analysis of territorial realities through the lens of extended urbanization and the debates surrounding planetary urbanization and ruralization. Recently, he has concentrated on the urbanization of wilderness, examining the arguments made for Protected Areas and the institutional discourses that reveal the underlying social and territorial values at play. He engages with the public debate on the pathologies of unresolved social conflicts, bringing a critical approach informed by political philosophy. Using qualitative interdisciplinary methodologies and drawing inspiration from Gramscian and Lukácsian perspectives in critical theory, Cometta specializes in discourse analysis.
