Biography

Moshe Halbertal is a leading scholar in Jewish law and philosophy, serving as the Gruss Professor of Law at New York University School of Law and a Professor of Jewish Thought and Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Halbertal has received the Michael Bruno Memorial Award from the Rothschild Foundation and the Goldstein-Goren Book Award for his contributions to Jewish thought. In 2010, he was named a member of Israel's Academy of Sciences and Humanities, reflecting his significant influence and expertise in legal theory and political philosophy, particularly in the context of Jewish law.
