Biography

Mosuk Chow is a Research Professor of Statistics at Penn State University, where he serves as the Director of the Master of Applied Statistics program. He obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from Cornell University in 1983, following an M.S. in Statistics in 1981. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1978. Dr. Chow's research focuses on biostatistics and statistical decision theory, including sampling methods. He has published influential works in decision theory, Bayesian methods, estimation, and sampling. His collaborations with clinical researchers enhance the application of statistical methods in biology, genetics, and fisheries. With over ten years as the M.A.S. program director, he has trained students for data analytic roles in various industries. Dr. Chow has also served as a co-leader in the Clinical Translational Science Institute for Biostatistics and Epidemiology Research Design since 2010, and he joined Penn State as an assistant professor in 1996.
