Biography

Mukhtar Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Religion at Illinois University, specializing in Islamic Studies with a focus on mysticism, philosophy, and ethics. In addition to his research, Dr. Ali teaches various courses including Introduction to Islam, Islamic Theology, and Islamic Ethics, integrating traditional medicine with religious studies. He earned his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 and a bachelor's degree from the same institution in 1998. Ali also practices Traditional Chinese Medicine and has a master's degree from Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
