Biography

Munish Sharma is an artist-in-residence known for his significant contributions to the theatre as an actor, writer, and producer. Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, he graduated from the University of Regina and later moved to Vancouver to further his career. He co-created the hit underground cult sketch group 'Can’t Believe It’s Butter Chicken'. His play 'Mrs. Singh' received critical acclaim, winning honours at the Vancouver Fringe Festival. His recent commissioned play '#34' celebrated the life of the late CFL legend George Reed and premiered at Regina’s Globe Theatre. Munish's latest show, 'Danceboy', is set to premiere in 2026. He portrays Bhima in a theatrical adaptation of the ancient epic Mahabharata, which premiered in 2023 at the Shaw Festival in London, England, and has toured international cities including Perth, Australia, Toronto, Ottawa, and New York.
