Biography

Munther Dahleh is the William Coolidge Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at MIT and the Director of the Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS). He is also affiliated with MIT’s Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS). Dahleh previously served as Associate Department Head of EECS and was a Visiting Professor at the California Institute of Technology in their Department of Electrical Engineering. He holds notable consulting positions with various companies in the United States and abroad. Dahleh's contributions span robust control theory and computational methods for controller design, emphasizing the interplay of information control and fundamental limits in learning and decision-making within networked systems. His research interests include foundational theory of interaction in physical information networks, dynamics of information propagation, learning in networked environments, systemic risk, and dynamic models in transportation systems. Dahleh earned his BS in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University and his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Rice University.
