Biography

Murad Tayebjee is an Associate Professor in the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2012 and subsequently awarded an ARENA Postdoctoral Fellowship at UNSW from 2013 to 2016. He gained international experience by moving to the University of Cambridge after receiving a Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship from 2016 to 2018. Upon returning to UNSW in 2018, he took on the role of Senior Lecturer and currently leads a research group. His primary research focus involves using lasers to understand light-matter interactions to design innovative solar energy harvesting devices. Through his work, Professor Tayebjee has secured substantial research funding, including multiple grants from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and the Australian Research Council.
