Biography

Murray started his professional career in 1977 at the London design consultancy, Conran Associates. He spent thirty years managing programs and projects at Philips Design, eventually serving as Vice President and global Head of Operations. In 2012, he landed in Seattle and assumed the post of Vice President at the global design consultancy TEAGUE, where he was responsible for guiding the company’s long-standing design relationship with Boeing until 2017. In 2018, Murray joined Monash University’s Health Collab as an Adjunct Professor, contributing to the design research lab that provides innovative solutions to modern healthcare challenges. Over his career, he has been named the inventor on 16 United States patents and has received numerous design awards in the United States, Europe, and Asia, including accolades for co-designing the Roller Radio in 1983, featured in the design icons book 'Past Tense, Future Sense'. Originally from Adelaide, Murray studied Product Design and has lived for 40 years in various countries including London, the Netherlands, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Seattle, before returning home to Australia.
