Biography

Professor Ducharme has over 20 years of academic, professional, and industrial experience in the clinical development of pharmaceutical products, pharmacometrics, infectious diseases, and drug metabolism. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a Master’s degree in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Montreal. He pursued graduate studies in Clinical Pharmacy at the Graduate School of Wayne State University, where he obtained his Doctorate in Clinical Pharmacy in 1992. Professor Ducharme has presented over 200 seminars and posters internationally and published 150 abstracts, manuscripts, and book chapters in clinical pharmacology. He has been either Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in thousands of clinical pharmacology studies submitted to the FDA, EMA, and Health Canada. Additionally, he is a consulting expert for numerous pharmaceutical companies worldwide and has been a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Montreal since 1994, becoming Associate Professor in 1999. He has supervised the research work of 6 PhD candidates, 5 post-doc candidates, and 11 MSc candidates in clinical pharmacology. He has taught thousands of pharmacy students in pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics and infectious diseases, and has given special courses and seminars to regulatory agencies and pharmaceutical companies in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Professor Ducharme was elected Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy in 2000 and became a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology in 2001. He also serves as President of Learn Confirm Inc., a consultancy in clinical drug development and PK/PD modeling for innovative and generic companies globally. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences Expert Committee of Health Canada.
