Biography

Mustafa Naseem is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan's School of Information. His research interests lie at the intersection of technology and social impact, with a focus on designing technologies that enable behavior change in men from patriarchal societies to improve the health of women and children in low-income communities. He has taught and led ICT design and entrepreneurship programs in six countries across Africa, Asia, and North America. Prior to joining Michigan, Mustafa served as an ICTD Expert-in-Residence at the ATLAS Institute, University of Colorado Boulder. He received a Master’s degree from the ATLAS Institute and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship. He was also shortlisted as a finalist for the Rolex Awards for Enterprise in 2016. Mustafa's commitment to scaling solutions through public sector and non-profit partnerships aims to create sustainable impacts, and his projects have positively influenced tens of thousands of lives in Punjab, Pakistan. His work has engaged with significant organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and USAID.
