Biography

Mustapha Ibn Boamah is a Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Business at the University of New Brunswick in Saint John. He received a BSc (Hons) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an MSc from the University of Nottingham, and a PhD from Nottingham Trent University. His research interests include open-economy macroeconomics, monetary economics, international finance, and the economics of financial institutions. Having previously taught at Nottingham Trent University and Kaplan International College in England, he teaches macroeconomics, financial institutions and markets, and international finance at UNB. He has received multiple teaching excellence awards, highlighting his strong teaching record and dedication to students, including the Department Award for Teaching Excellence and the Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching. Dr. Ibn Boamah has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on inflation, exchange rate dynamics, monetary unions, interest rate parity, and microfinance. He participates actively in university governance, serves as the Economics Area Group coordinator, and is a member of the Canadian Economic Association and the Progressive Economics Forum.
