Dr. Myles Leslie

Biography

Myles Leslie is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, specializing in patient engagement and health services research. He focuses on applying engagement principles to address real-world challenges in healthcare policy and practice. His primary research interests include eldercare, healthcare technology, and the necessary reforms at policy, organizational, and clinical levels to support high-quality care and well-being programs for seniors in Canada. With extensive international experience, he employs ethnography and qualitative methods in his research. Additionally, Dr. Leslie serves as the Associate Director of Research at the School of Public Policy, where he is interested in the origins and challenges of trust creation in policy implementation and teaching. He joined the University of Calgary faculty in the autumn of 2016 after his tenure at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Leslie has received Canada Graduate Trudeau Foundation Scholarships and held a post-doctoral position focused on patient safety and quality.
