Dr. N’jameh Russell Camara

Biography

N’Jameh Russell-Camara is an esteemed teaching faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison specializing in Theatre Drama. A YALSA nominated actor, N’Jameh has garnered critical acclaim for performances including a principal role as Nettie in the Broadway National Tour of The Color Purple and participation in award-winning productions such as Macbeth X: Betty Shabazz vs. Nation. N’Jameh's diverse performances extend to international audiences through Audible, where they have narrated a variety of children’s literature published by prestigious publishers including Penguin Random House and Harper Collins. As the founder of the Pandemic Pregnancy Project, N’Jameh transformed personal interviews into impactful monologues, which have been preserved in the Library of Congress. With a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California-San Diego, N’Jameh has also contributed to education in acting at UW-Madison and offered workshops at several universities across the country, imparting expertise to aspiring actors.
