Biography

Na Li has a background in statistics and operations research focused on health care applications. She completed her PhD in Statistics at the Department of Statistical and Actuarial Sciences, Western University, in February 2016, and subsequently worked as a biostatistician at the McMaster Centre for Transfusion Research for several years. In 2020, she completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Department of Computing and Software at McMaster University, where she concentrated on blood demand forecasting and inventory management in collaboration with Canadian Blood Services. She joined the faculty of the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary in January 2021. Na Li is an enthusiastic researcher dedicated to applying data science and operations research methods to health care studies. Her research interests include operations research, mathematical modeling, applied statistics, data science, and the application of statistical methods to assist health-care researchers. She collaborates closely with transfusion medicine research groups, such as the Biomedical Excellence for Safer Transfusion (BEST) Collaborative, and Canadian Blood Services, working on multiple projects across Canadian provinces.
