Dr. Na Li

Biography

Na (Lina) Li is the Winokur Family Professor of Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at Harvard University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS). She serves as an area chair in Electrical Engineering and is a scientific advisor for Singularity Energy, Inc., a startup that provides innovative products and development tools for decarbonization solutions. Her research focuses on the control, learning, and optimization of dynamical systems, integrating various interdisciplinary methods to develop foundational tools for real-world cyber-physical systems. Li's current projects investigate the interplay between model-based and model-free reinforcement learning and apply her findings to robotics and neuroscience. She has received numerous awards, including the IFAC Thoma Medal and the NSF CAREER Award, and is actively engaged in mentoring the next generation of researchers. Li’s work has been recognized within the academic community, and she is frequently invited to organize workshops at prestigious conferences like NeurIPS. Her publication record is extensive, showcasing her contributions to the fields of control systems and reinforcement learning.
