Na Young Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo and leads the Quantum Innovation (QuIN) laboratory. Her research focuses on building large-scale quantum processors based on novel materials and advanced technologies. She has initiated various projects, including establishing controllable optical and electrical domains in semiconductor quantum processors, and developing planar architectures comprising nano-scale devices for multi-functional classical quantum device arrays. Prior to joining the University of Waterloo in 2016, she worked at Apple Inc. in developing small display products. Na Young received her Bachelor of Science in Physics from Seoul National University and later pursued her Doctorate in Applied Physics at Stanford University, where she explored mesoscopic transport properties of low-dimensional nanostructures. Her postgraduate research has expanded into quantum optics and nanophotonics, involving theoretical and experimental projects in collaboration with students and scholars.
